Used Ford Car Parts

Although new car parts are often competitively priced, they can also be a ridiculous expense. After shopping around, you might find a car part that seems like a bargain, but it might not have the same quality as its more expensive counterpart. Used Ford auto parts are a good money saving alternative. You need to be careful to ensure that the used auto part is fully functional and that the dealer whom you source it from is reliable and can be trusted.

You can shop online for used Ford auto parts. Websites that sell used parts can be found that have their bricks and mortar sites in your local area. Some sites will direct you to your nearest used auto parts dealer. One of the best sites for this kind of search is Getusedparts.com. You simply fill in a form stating what part or parts you require and you submit the form, containing your e-mail address, to the site. You'll be informed of the locations where the used auto parts can be found.

Some stores stock both new and used auto parts, but in general there are no chains of outlets that do this as a rule. A good move would be to check your phone directory for the nearest big-name auto repair chain, and inquire by phone if they stock used parts. Another option is to search the web for the same details as places will sometimes inform you that they stock used parts on their websites. If you're looking for a specific part particular to a certain model car (as will usually be the case), it's wise to phone beforehand to make sure they have the used part in stock.

Another great place to look for old auto parts is the salvage yard. A salvage yard will typically take in old broken down cars and harvest whatever parts are still operational under the hood or anywhere else on the vehicle before scrapping the rest. The quality of parts available at the salvage yard will vary greatly.

Remember, when sourcing a used Ford auto part, quality is very important. If the auto part is too worn or rusty, it's probably not fit for purpose. You should try and get a diagnostic check done on the part before installation to make sure it's still operational. A really useless or malfunctioning used part could actually do your car damage.

You want to make sure that the shop or seller of the used Ford auto part can be trusted. You could check their qualifications, see if they've had positive reviews, or check with friends and acquaintances to see if they've used the service in the past and if so, ask them what they thought.

When sourcing parts for your Ford, buying used rather than new can save you a lot of cash. But you have to be careful - remember to check the seller for references. Ensure that the quality of the part is as near to perfect as possible, and that it will function just as well as a new part would in your vehicle.

The 2011 Ford Explorer Goes Green(er): No V8, Front-Wheel Drive, Unibody Platform, V6 Or I4 EcoBoost

Ford just pulled the sheet off the brand new 2011 Ford Explorer. It's a bit different than we're used to. Traditionally next-gen SUVs are bigger and badder than the previous generation. While the 2011 Ford Explorer is slightly longer than its predecessors are, the engines are smaller, the ride height is lower, and the overall off-roading capabilities are dramatically reduced. Ford to unveil redesigned Explorer

The SUV that sparked a revolution is lighter and more fuel efficient. Also, like much of its modern competition, it's no longer built on the base of a truck. Long before SUVs drove like cars and appeared in nearly every driveway, the vehicles were built like trucks and used by people who plied the backcountry. Then Ford Motor Co. rolled out its Explorer and forever altered the U.S. auto market.

Inside the 2011 Ford Explorer Facebook Reveal

In just a few minutes the 2011 Ford Explorer will be unveiled to the world. That's because, for the first time ever, Ford is bucking with tradition and turning to the web -- with Facebook as the platform -- to reveal its latest vehicle.
